Fishing...

So we've been trying all summer to plan a camping trip and get out of the city but I kept getting stressed out about school and we weren't able to make it happen until this weekend. We had so much fun. We went out to a really nice place outside of Cascade, ID called Horsetheif. It's right on a reservoir and is super pretty. There were a lot of people but our camp site was a little away from everyone. We drove out after work on Friday and met up with Devin's dad and his little brother Dakota. In the morning we woke up and headed down to the dock to fish. I think that this is the first time that I've actually been fishing besides when I was little and went fishing with Dad.
Devin loves fishing. I think it made his weekend when I discovered that I like it too. Now he wants to go fishing all the time.

Lance, Jackie and Anika met us up there in the morning to go fishing with us.

We stated off just fishing off the dock.

It was super pretty there.

After a few hours of fishing off the dock not catching a dang thing we decided to move down river.

There were tons of little fish but not a lot of big fish. Dakota caught the biggest one at that spot.

His big perch.

This was my first fish.

We stopped off the highway and climbed down here. I caught an 8" mountain white fish on the second cast. Too bad we didn't have the camera. We climbed back up to get the camera but then didn't catch anything else.

The Payett River was so pretty and was running really full.

When we got home we checked the tomatoes and we had 11 ripe tomatoes, and then on Sunday there were 5 more.

Devin smelling the tomatoes.

The delicious salsa that I made.

  1. HOLY SUNBURN MISSY! Someday, I swear, you guys will learn to wear sunscreen :D haha! Also, I'm super jealous you have a garden, If I tried to plant one here the landscaper would probably just run over it like he did Hallie's pool. Rude. I'm glad you enjoyed fishing!!!! Looks like you had a blast!!!!
